The Corn Germ Oil Refinery Production Mill: 

crude maize oil → degumming&dephosphorization → deacidification  → drying → decolorization → deodorization → defatting → dewaxing → product oil.

Refining methods:

oil refining is according to the different usage and requirements, utilizing the physical methods and chemical processes to get rid of the harmful impurities and needless substance in the crude oil, getting standard oil.

Advantages of refining craft:

1. After refining the impurity of oil must be less than 0.2% ;

2.Recycling system save power and money;

3.Lower oil waste.

Method of hydration degumming:
Using the hydrophilic groups in oils,add  certain amount of hot water or dilute of acid, alkali,salt or other electrolyte solution,to make the colliod swell and condense. then sedimentating and separating.The sedimentation of colliod called nigre.Low temperature hydration 20- 30 degree,High temperature hydration 80-90 degree.
Add acid  degumming:
Adding organic or inorganic acid to change the structure of colloid,to achieve the purpose of easy sedimentating.Add 85% phosphoric acid,the amount of  oil 0.1%-1% , which was fully stirred under the 60-80 degree,then the mixed solution is fed into a centrifuge to colliod separation .

2, Deacidification
Alkali refining:

Adding alkali to neutralize fatty acids and formed soap and water.we usually take the sodium-hydroxide solubilization.
Alkali refining itself has a comprehensive role in the deacidification, degumming, removal of impurities and bleaching:1.Neutralization of FFA to form soap ,2 the soap adsorption protein and a small amount of mechanical impurities together sedimentating.
Distillation deacidification:
Using direct steam heating, the free fatty acids and low molecular weight substances are discharged together with steam in a vacuum condition.

3, Decoloration :
Adsorption bleaching:

Using adsorbent to adsorb the pigment and other impurities in the oil,then through the filtering to removal the adsorbent and impurities.
Adsorption material :activated clay , activated carbon

4, Deodorization:
Vacuum steam method, hydrogenation method, chemical drugs method.
Vacuum steam deodorization: Since the different volatility of odor substances and triglycerides in oils. Under the conditions of high temperature and vacuum, using steam distillation, let the odor compounds and water vapor escape together  and achieve the purpose of deodorization.

5, Dewaxing
The waxiness is the  polymer that combine fatty acid and monohydric alcohol .Its melting point at 78-82 degree
Oil dewaxing is  using the great difference melting properties between oil and wax , by cooling and crystallization and filtration or centrifugation to  seperate oil and waxiness.
